Berezhnyi Article Published in Slavia¶

Oleh Shynkarenko's article "Vasyl Berezhnyi: Collapse of Techno-Communism" has been published in Slavia: časopis pro slovanskou filologii 95, no. 3 (2026): 280–296. DOI: 10.58377/slav.2026.3.03.

The article compares Berezhnyi's early utopian novel To the Starry Worlds (1956) with his last collection Labyrinth (1986). It traces his path from the state-sanctioned optimism of the early space age to postmodern irony and reads it as a mirror of the exhaustion of the Soviet techno-communist project.
